I am a long time fan of the Bluebird but yesterday we had a unsatisfactory lunch. My husband and I each ordered the walleye platter. My husband has caught and I have cooked many a walleye in our lifetimes. What we were served was whitefish, which was prepared fine , but it was not walleye. We pointed this out to our waiter who checked with the cook who said it was indeed walleye which it indeed was not. Since we are people who do not make a scene, we ate our indeed it was not walleye and left.
Stopped here for a quick lunch on our Leelanau wine tour, we saw that they had many sandwich options and good reviews. After eating here, I would NOT recommend wasting your time. Took 10 minutes for someone to come to our table, 40 minutes for our food to come out, and only 2 out of the 5 meals were satisfactory. Took up way too much of our day for crappy food and service.
Pretty good food although it's mostly fried (although the fried fish selections are extremely good and unique), a great wine, beer, and cocktail menu, and absolutely fantastic (and very patient staff... really patient!). Traditionally, my family has gone here for more than half a century!
Great cinnamon rolls. An institution in Leland. The Trivia night is fun. Great beer selection.
We had never been here before so I asked our waiter , if he had any recommendations. One suggestion was the fish tacos. I had them and loved them. Hubby had fish and enjoyed it. Great service by our waiter.
